The Stand automatically tells the difference between video lessons and audio files — videos go straight into your lesson library, while audio tracks are filtered into an inbox, where you get to add info before they are moved to your Play-Along section.

Individual videos or full playlists, in one go. As with any download tool, users are responsible for ensuring their use complies with the terms of service of the platforms they access. The Stand is intended for personal learning use only.
No. Once your lessons are in your library they're yours, stored on your computer. The Stand works completely offline — no internet, no account, no cloud. The only time you need a connection is when downloading new content from the web.
The Stand works with all common video formats — MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and more. For playback it uses your chosen player (VLC or IINA), both of which handle virtually any format you'll encounter.
Yes — The Stand uses VLC or IINA for video playback, so you'll need at least one installed. Both are free. VLC is the default and works out of the box. IINA is a clean Mac-native alternative. You choose which one opens your lessons in Settings.
Absolutely — that's exactly what The Stand is built for. Point it at a folder (or nested folders full of videos) and it imports everything at once. You can have hundreds of lessons organised in minutes. No need to move or copy files — it can link to them right where they already are.
